Book of Ceremonies for Caerthe This section of the webpage houses information on the Caerthe Book of Ceremonies. This includes ceremony texts for Orders and Awards, Fealty Oaths, Charters, Scroll Texts, and anything else that makes its way into the book of ceremonies. Related Items: Ceremony | Standard Scroll Text | Order Information Charter for the Order of the Sable Lion of Caerthe Constitution for the Order of the Sable Lion of Caerthe I. There shall exist in the Barony of Caerthe an award, known as the Order of the Sable Lion of Caerthe, which may be given by the Coronet of Caerthe, subject to the pleasure of the Crown, to those individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the Martial Arts, giving freely of their expertise in the use and artistry of historical and traditional SCA-style weaponry. II. The holders of this award shall be styled as Companions of the Sable Lion of Caerthe and shall be entitled to place the initials C.S.L.C. after their names. III. The insignia of the Order shall consist of a medallion bearing the registered badge of the Order: (Fieldless) Two swords crossed in saltire gules surmounted by a lion's head erased sable. IV. Arms and precedence: A. The award shall carry with it, subject to the pleasure of the Crown, an Award of Arms. Companions of the order shall take precedence after principality orders but before a simple Award of Arms. B. If the award is given to a person who bears an award carrying higher precedence than given above, his/her precedence shall remain unchanged. C. If the award is given to a person who has previously received an Award of Arms, his/her precedence shall date from his/her election to the Order. V. Amendments to this constitution shall be made by the Coronet of Caerthe after due consultation with the Crown. VI. The companionship of all previous recipients of the Order is hereby confirmed.
