Caerthen Arts and Sciences Competition and Baronial Polling March 6, 2010 Parker Mainstreet Center Her Excellency of Caerthe invites one and all to participate in the Arts and Sciences Championship for the Barony of Caerthe. Official entries, displays, judges, observers and moral supporters/cheering sections are encouraged and welcome. Enter the championship competition or come to observe the amazing works and talents of the artisans. This event will determine the Arts and Sciences Champion for the Barony of Caerthe for the next year. This event will also host the polling of the Populace of Caerthe to help Their Majesties determine the next coronet of Caerthe.
While all participants are encouraged to enter the competition for Grand Champion or enter items for general judging, there is plenty of space for displays. Bring your finished projects or works in progress to display or enter. This is a terrific opportunity for feedback and discussion with other artisans and arts admirers. Show people what you are working on! If you are planning to enter the competition, please contact the Autocrat with a general idea of what you are entering, how much space you require and any special arrangements you might need. If you intend to enter for Grand Champion please pre-register by February 28th so that we may be sure to have enough judges to accommodate your entries! No alcohol — Site is dry. Participants planning to enter an alcoholic item for the Arts and Sciences competition must contact the autocrat to make special arrangements. Site is DRY. Please contact the autocrat to arrange for judging of alcoholic items. A donation lunch will be served.
Schedule of Events:
Competition: Any member may enter, but only residents of the Barony of Caerthe, including any of its Cantons and Colleges, may win Caerthen Grand Champion. Entrants must be present at the competition. Participants must enter at least three distinctively different items in the competition, e.g., one item in costuming, one item in cooking, one in woodworking. Documentation is required.
Volunteers: Judges are definitely needed and we may need a setup and teardown crew. If would like to help with these or anything else, please contact the autocrat.
Directions to Site: Make your best route to I-25 and Lincoln Ave. Go east on Lincoln to S. Parker Rd. Head south on Parker Rd. to Main St. Go east on Main to the Mainstreet Center, it will be on the right side of the street. Parking: Ample parking is located behind the building.
